After a beautiful opening ceremony, Turkey and Italy opened the Euro 2020 last night in a pretty entertaining match, with plenty of opportunities at both ends. Italy was the dominant team and Roberto Mancini has them playing a type of football that’s a pleasure for the viewers. The Turks held their ground in the first half before Italy scored all three goals in their 0-3 win in the second half, starting off their run as Euro 2020 outsider.
The first score came on a Turkish own goal after a sharp cross from the right wing. Merih Demiral had to out a head on it, but unfortunately his clearing ended up right in goal.
Ciro Immobile started off his chase for the Golden Boot by getting the second goal, before also assisting on Lorenzo Insigne’s finishing score in the 79th minute.
